Head of Trade Chef Update

I’ve now been in the role for c8
months, and the time has abso-
lutely flown-by, you know what
they say, ‘time flies when you’re
having fun’.
The past few months have
seen a multitude of awards being
delivered and chef being recognised for outstand-
ing achievement.
The first set of achievements were Conductors’
Coins delivered on behalf of Cdr Underdown by
the Head of Trade for the chefs to:
Cpl Mafemera, JSSU, Cyprus, for his outstand-
ing support to JSSU and development of the civilian
chefs in situ. He also received a commendation
from his CO and a Coin of Merit from the GOC,
LONDIST for the part he played in assisting with
the catering for the Military Musical Spectacular
event in London.
Pte Joslyn – RLC WO2 Cameron, 1LANCS, Cyprus, for his
Foundation’s Apprentice role during the Covid period, of which his dept
of the Year Award was awarded a Commander British Forces Cyprus
commendation and his support to the local
MoD school.
Pte Joslyn, 26 Engineer Regt, Perham Down was
the winner of the RLC Foundation’s Apprentice of
the Year Award for her outstanding achievement
during her undertaking of the award.
Cpl Mafemera – Pte Freeman, 1 Royal Welsh, Tidworth, was
Commendation from his the winner of the Army’s Tri-Service Apprentice
CO and a Coin of Merit (level 2) of the year at Worthy Down for his
from the GOC, LONDIST excellent work and achieving a distinction in his
End Point Assessment.
LCpl Gurung, 16 Med Regt, Colchester
(previously of 4 Regiment RLC), was awarded the
Army’s Tri-Service Apprentice (level 3) of the year
at Worthy Down for his continued support to his
juniors, whilst undertaking the award.
WO2 Lawrence, 1 Royal Welsh, Tidworth, was
the winner of the Army’s Tri-Service mentor of the
year award for his development of those undertak-
WO2 Cameron – ing the apprenticeship award. His support to eight
Commander British Forces SP, whilst deployed on Op CABRIT was over and
Cyprus Commendation above that expected of him.
