Chip Walker and Pete Marshall struggling on the climb with each hill
approaching 500 feet
At Durdle Door we stopped to get our breath
and admire the scenery.
However our break was short-lived and off we
went, ready to climb the second of four massive hills.
At the eight mile point we were all mightily
pleased to have reached the Smugglers Inn at
Osmington, and there we partook in the local ales
and fayre.
We had already faced every possible type of
weather phenomenon including mist, gales, rain
and sunshine. The weather really couldn’t make up
it’s mind what it was supposed to do. For us, there
was little choice but to crack on.
The final four and a half miles or so were more
akin to the trenches, thick gooey mud with each step
