ACC ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER
Field of Remembrance 2022

The Field of Remembrance was first
initiated in 1928 by the Poppy Factory
founder, Major George Howson MC,
with 2022 Field of Remembrance
being the 94th iteration. It has
been held annually in the gardens of
Westminster Abbey ever since, and
from its beginnings where 30,000
poppies were planted in 1928 to 2022
where over 70,000 tributes were once
again carefully laid out according to
regiments, units and associations.
There are some 308 plots, with the
ACC being plot 139. This year, there
is a plot located on the north side of
St Margaret’s Church dedicated to
the memory of Her Majesty Queen
Elisabeth II. The Queen Consort was
