ACC ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER
ACC Association Function Friday 20th September 2024
By Eric Lewis
Following our successful association 20th September 2024. The event was
soiree in 2023, the association held attended by 73 association members
an informal dinner and dance at the and friends, and from my perspective,
Village Hotel, Farnborough on Friday and the responses received, proved to be
another successful gathering.
The evening started promptly at
1900 hours with predrinks, where our
members had the opportunity to meet
and greet new and old friends and
colleagues – some who have not seen
each other for many years. Dinner was
served at 2000 hours and although
not to the standard that many of our
members remember or even delivered,
dinner was wholesome with plenty for
everyone – more importantly there was
plenty of dessert which kept my wife
and many with a sweet tooth happy. The
Geoff and Barbara – celebrating their15 years anniversary
disco followed dinner with most availing
themselves of the dance floor – no lurid one a chef. I am sure you are interesting
stories here as what happened on the in attending future events and encourage
dance floor stays on the dance floor. you to do so.
The one thing I look forward to at These association events are very
these events is meeting people I served much a family affair, with many members
with in the past with the chance to bringing family members along too. For
share a story or two. On canvasing those those that know Geoff Acott – he and
attending we had members who joined Barbara celebrated their 15th Wedding
in the early 1960s right though to one Anniversary and were presented with a
Andy Sinnet gifting a cheque for £385 that joined in 1990s – each and every bottle of bubbly.
