       The Sixth ACC Reunion Dinner

       in Blackpool 2021

Despite the fear of Covid, we managed to get
about 60 members and their guests to attend the
Blackpool Reunion Dinner in 2021. The Grand
Hotel did us proud and the room, food and service
was excellent. Drinks prices were kept down for the
function which was great, and I did hear someone
say they would come again just because of these
prices! The dinner was brilliant and although I have
never seen a Lamb shank that size (enormous)
before, I must say it was delicious and the meat just Matchstick Corps Badge
fell off the bone. We had the Matchstick Corps
Badge with us again (a real work of art) with thanks The entertainment
to I believe Dave Calder and the rolling video clips was excellent
all from the past kept you mesmerised when you
                                                       Real Corps attention
       stopped to look at it.
                                                              to detail
We had a new entertainer this year, she was
brilliant and managed to get 90% of us old folk
onto the dance floor and even got Harry Barlow
leading the conga round the room. I forgot that
I was seventy years old, and my body paid for
me enjoying myself when I got up the next day.
I’m wondering how many others paid the same
price as well, but it was worth it. Phil Webber,
who did most of the organising, kept his eye on
everything and made sure it all went according to
                                                    This huge Lamb Shank
                                                    was actually delicious,
                                                    everyone got a stick of
Blackpool Rock too plan. The raffle went very well thanks to Treena
Webber and £470 was raised to go towards next
                                                                      year’s function.
Thank you to all those that brought a prize for
the raffle, without that we would not have been able
to put a bottle of Port on each table for the toasts.
It was a real boon to meet old friends and make
some new ones as well. We even had the famous
Grand Hotel ACC Blackpool lights on, and I know that some people
                                                            Dinner 2021
had a drive along the promenade to see them after
the dinner. There were a few people who could not
make it this year and we are looking forward to
seeing all of you next year. Cheers to everyone.
                                                                      Mike Joyner
