The Officers’ Club had been Lt Gen Sir Mark Poffley

reunion dinner for well over a
year but of course the pandemic
kept getting in the way of the
                      event, which is normally held
in March. In 2020, the dinner
took place just a few days before the first lockdown.
For 2021, it was difficult to plan with any degree
of certainty as the ‘goalposts’ kept moving. It was
planned for the Club to return to London where
it held many dinners in it’s early years and the din-
ner was eventually held on Friday 10th September Col Nick Borsly, ACC

stunning location, probably one of London’s finest
Livery Company Halls, often used for films rep-
licating Buckingham Palace for example. Having
only just reopened following a multi £million refur-
bishment during lockdown, the Hall was looking
even more splendid than usual. As well as almost 80
members, the Club was joined by Lt Gen Sir Mark

performance including their LED light sticks.
Prior to the dinner, members of the Officers’
Club had gathered in a nearby hotel, The Ned, for
afternoon tea for some and an early G&T or beer
for others. The Ned opened in 2017 and is a rather
unusual and quirky hotel, which is housed in the
