Around the Regions
Dear Wally,
Please see below newspaper report from the State of Victoria
which outlines the field catering support an ex-AACC
member provided to emergency workers during the recent
catastrophic bushfires in Australia.
Today the Australian Capital Canberra is under a State
of Emergency as fires rage to the south of the city. Friends
of ours have already lost their home and farm business in
earlier fire-storms nearby in New South Wales.
Our Army Reserve has been mobilised for the first time
ever, and the AACC regular and reserve is supporting all
these fire fighters as well as Defence personnel and emer-
gency support staff over many fire fronts.
Ironically, in the north of Queensland, Defence person-
nel are assisting in flood relief in the city and surrounds of
Townsville, which is a large garrison town. I have received
reports through our “Old & Bold” network that the AACC
are supporting our troops and emergency workers to the Dear Wally,
