EXERCISE JOINT CATERER 22
Ex JOINT CATERER is a food
services skills competition for the
key military capability delivered
by Service caterers on operations.
Formerly held over 3 days at the Defence Academy
Shrivenham, this year the Exercise was held with a
revised 2-day schedule in Hall 18 at the National
Exhibition Centre (NEC) Birmingham as part of
a wider Public Sector Catering Expo. The event
was organised in conjunction with a commercial
sponsor, Dewberry Redpoint Ltd. Now in its 22nd
year, Ex JOINT CATERER was held at the NEC
on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th March
2022. It was great to have this competition back
up and running after a COVID induced gap of
2 years and a year prior to that as the Competition Lt Col (Retd) Marcus The primary aim of Ex JOINT CATERER

two days of competition involving teams from
the three Services. As well as the Live Theatre
(6 workstations) there was static classes and both
a Field Cookery Competition and the Defence
Lt Col (Retd) Nigel Shepherd
Engagement Challenge. During the event as well

Ex JOINT CATERER awards as general food service exhibitors there were Class
