A cross-section of former Corps members were invited to the ceremony, which was followed by a reception and lunch in the St Omer Officers’ Mess. The whole project cost £12,000 of which half was generously donated by the RHQ the RLC. The Director RLC was present and said how pleased he was to have been involved in the project, adding that the memorial would be added to the list that would be maintained by the RLC in the future.

Opening of ACC War Memorial Hall Garden and Re-dedication Service – 3rd June 2004

The ACC Memorial Hall was scheduled for demolition in the rebuild of St Omer Barracks over the next few years, but thanks to the alertness and initiative of Association Committee Members, the Hall is now in safe hands. The Ministry of Defence Services Central Library had been looking to relocate its offices and jumped at the chance to use the Hall. As part of the deal, the ACC Association maintains its shrine, certain items of memorabilia relating to the units that made up the Training Centre and a memorial garden. The Chaplain General rededicated the War Memorial, incorporating all those killed since World War 2 and a new cast bronze plaque on the front of the building was unveiled by the Association Vice-President Colonel AF Barnett OBE, recognising the part that the ACC has played in training soldiers in Aldershot over the years.
